The Beginner’s Guide to SAGE’s Canadian-Friendly Features

Here’s our step-by-step guide for how to use SAGE’s Canadian-friendly settings in SAGE Workplace.

How to Start and Filter a Search

Log into your SAGE Workplace Windows app.

Click on Product Search in the left menu.

From here, you can make your search as broad or as narrow as you’d like using the search fields listed.

You can search specifically for Canadian products by checking CA-Canada in the Made In, Assembled In, or Decorated In search fields. 

You can also narrow your search to suppliers with a physical location in Canada with the Location field in the Supplier Criteria search.

Or you can use the ship point fields to find specific products that ship from a country, province, or km radius from a postal code. 

To further limit your search, select Canadian-Friendly under Other Filter Options.

To display Canadian dollars, you can select the Tools drop down menu at the top, then select Settings. Here you can change your currency to CAD and select OK to return to the search screen. Or if you would like to only view pricing in Canadian currency for a single search, you can select CAD in the Currency drop down field under Supplier Criteria on the search screen.

If a supplier has both a Canadian and US listing, the Canadian listing will always show up first, so you don’t have to worry about making sure you choose the right listing location.

Things to Know:

Did you know you can also filter your product search by various standards and compliances specific to the Canadian market? The Standards field in the Product Criteria area allows you to narrow your search to products that are CCPSA, CuL, CSA, and CFIA approved.

How to Use the Shipping Estimator

You can also utilize the Shipping Estimator to include costs from Canada Post. To view an estimate for a specific product, click the red truck next to shipping in the product detail information. Then, enter the necessary information like destination and quantity ordered and click Get Rates to see the Canada Post shipping estimates. However, it's important to note that you must have the carton information as well as the shipping zip code to calculate shipping.

How To Translate a Sales Presentation into French

To translate your presentation to French, log into your SAGE Workplace Windows app.

Click on Presentations in the left menu and then double-click to open the presentation you want to translate. 

Next, on the left-hand side, select Options.

From here, under the Language section, select French from the drop down menu.

Then select save to apply your changes.

To translate your introduction or closing paragraphs, select the small AI drop down above the text box, and then select Translate to Canadian French.

Click on Presentations in the left menu and then double-click to open the presentation you want to translate.

Next, on the left-hand side, select Options.

From here, under the Language section, select French from the drop down menu.

Then select save to apply your changes.

Creating a Canadian-Friendly Website

Log into your SAGEmember.com account.

On the left-hand side, select Website to go to your settings.

Select Cart Settings and then click on Pricing and Additional Charges.

From here, you can see the Site Currency area. Select Canadian Dollars from the drop-down menu. 

In the next section, you will see Automatic Tax Calculation is selected by default. To add a new nexus location, select the Province from the drop down menu and type in the Postal Code, then select Add. 

Next, to change your site language, select Site Settings on the left-hand side. Then scroll to the bottom of the page and you will see French under Languages. 

Then click Save to apply your changes.

Now, your customers will be able to toggle between English and French by selecting the globe at the top of your website and choosing their desired language.
