It wasn\u2019t in the master plan. But when he received a\nwell-timed message from Soardist\u2019s owner and founder, Jacky Wang, inviting\nJaroszewski to get to know his company\u2014the seed was planted. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A new player in the space, Soardist was already punching\nabove its weight. Wang was looking for the right partner to help further expand\nthe Soardist footprint in the US. Soon, Jaroszewski was flying to Vegas to meet\nup with Wang and his team at a tradeshow, to kick the tires a bit and check out\nthe quality of their core goods\u2014print-to-order tents, flags, and table throws. What\nhe experienced when he got there surprised him. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-2 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1704\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sageworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/1617359285.1280.1280__82026.1617359456.1280.1280__53150.1617359526-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"12178\" data-link=\"https:\/\/www.sageworld.com\/blog\/?attachment_id=12178\" class=\"wp-image-12178\"\/><\/figure><\/li><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1920\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sageworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/6ft_stretch__91731__00286.1607938379.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"12167\" data-link=\"https:\/\/www.sageworld.com\/blog\/?attachment_id=12167\" class=\"wp-image-12167\"\/><\/figure><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI was VERY impressed,\u201d recalls Jaroszewski, who then\ncontinues. \u201cThey do all of the hardware, and the printing was very, very good\nquality.\u201d In a previous role, he\u2019d seen the range of offerings in this market\nspace and knew that this combination of high quality and low price point\npositioned Soardist for huge growth opportunities. So, he flew out to China to\nlook beneath the hood. Twice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI was sold. This company was the real deal. After that, it\nwas pretty much game on.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Soardist spent 2019 making new inroads, building their\nclient base across the US. They found the richest opportunities along the\nsunbelt where tents are year-long investments. Clients who tried out their\ngoods as one-offs soon became fully converted customers. Initially purchasing\nbased on price point, then sticking around as loyalists for the quality. It\ndidn\u2019t take long for their product to get noticed in other sunny destinations, with\nAustralia emerging as their second-largest market and Europe rising to third. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-2 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-2 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1920\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sageworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/10x15_ft_tent_package-__28028__68882.1607938425.png\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"12173\" data-link=\"https:\/\/www.sageworld.com\/blog\/?attachment_id=12173\" class=\"wp-image-12173\"\/><\/figure><\/li><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1920\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sageworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/flag.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"12179\" data-link=\"https:\/\/www.sageworld.com\/blog\/?attachment_id=12179\" class=\"wp-image-12179\"\/><\/figure><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>As their clients grew, staff followed. Jaroszewski and Wang built\ntheir team with the same eye for quality that they used to design their product\nofferings. \u201cThat\u2019s the key, on both sides of the water,\u201d explains Jaroszewski\nfrom his home office in Chicago. \u201cJacky and I make a lot of the decisions. But\nour team in China has only ever come through for us, every single time, to make\nit happen for me, my team, and my customers. And then my team here in the U.S.\nis one of the best, if not The Best sales-service teams in the country in this\nbusiness.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They stay lean and don\u2019t hold a traditional office space,\nwhich Jaroszewski believes gives them several advantages. By keeping a\ntight-knit core team, they\u2019re able to quickly pivot to solve problems, offer\nnew solutions, and bring new products to market, fast. And by allowing\nemployees to work from home, they believe they get the best of everyone. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEveryone works from home, and we were doing that before it\nwas cool to do,\u201d he says with a chuckle. \u201cIt\u2019s way better. And unlike a\ntraditional 9-to-5 office, my people are checking their emails at 9 at night.\nThey\u2019re working all day. They might block time to take their kid to the doctor\nor help take their mom somewhere\u2014handle important life things\u2014but then I\u2019ll see\ntheir emails still going out and coming back at 8:30, 9, 10 p.m. \u2013They\u2019re\ncommitted and checked in.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This always-on mentality gives them another advantage to deliver for their clients because today\u2019s orders are being fulfilled overnight with Wang\u2019s team in China. \u201cThe advantage is they\u2019re working while we\u2019re sleeping, and vice versa,\u201d he explains. And in China, Jacky Wang is staying up late, working until 2:30 a.m. so there\u2019s a consistent flow of information keeping projects on track and communications aligned. It\u2019s working so well that most smaller orders placed and paid for today, with good artwork, can begin shipping out tomorrow, with hardware distributed separately from strategically positioned hubs. \u201cUsually that process, from beginning to end is about five days, start to finish,\u201d says Jaroszewski.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Soardist reaped the full value of being a lean company as\nthe pandemic began. Wang decided they should try masks and PPE in early March\n2020. By not being beholden to cumbersome processes and sourcing issues, they\nwere able to beat competitors to market <em>and<\/em> grow their infrastructure in\nChina simultaneously. Jaroszewski attributes that success to Wang\u2019s overarching\nvision. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-2 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-3 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1750\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sageworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/4ply__64137.1612832664.png\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"12172\" data-link=\"https:\/\/www.sageworld.com\/blog\/?attachment_id=12172\" class=\"wp-image-12172\"\/><\/figure><\/li><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1920\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sageworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Neck-Gaiter-face-cover__27583.1589028155.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"12170\" data-link=\"https:\/\/www.sageworld.com\/blog\/?attachment_id=12170\" class=\"wp-image-12170\"\/><\/figure><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHe has great foresight. All of the greats do. He\u2019s always two\nor three steps ahead of the game. He\u2019s always trying to work on the Next Big\nThing. And we try to keep that relatable to what we do.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For Soardist, the current Next Big Thing is apparel. \u201cOur\nbread and butter is printing,\u201d he explains. \u201cAnything that\u2019s dye-sublimated we\nfigure, why <em>can\u2019t <\/em>we do it? We have the technology. There\u2019s no reason\nwhy we can\u2019t do it.\u201d So, they\u2019ve started using their techniques to churn out\nathletic uniforms, and according to Jaroszewski, it\u2019s really taking off. \u201cWe\u2019ve\nbeen lucky. We\u2019ve been getting a ton of teams. A ton of fundraiser walks. It\u2019s\nall starting up again and we\u2019re ready.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1600\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sageworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/jersey_cat_banner__00821.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12164\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>They\u2019ve also used some of their time in 2020 to update other aspects of their infrastructure. They\u2019ve added distribution sites in the U.S. to stay even closer to their core customers in Texas and Florida. They\u2019ve also improved their website to provide added transparency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jaroszewski sees all of these seeds they\u2019ve planted over the\nlast two years building to something really big. The new customers they\u2019ve\nacquired by selling masks and PPE are now looking to them for their core\npromotional products. And with trade shows now on the rise again, so are the\norders from their customer base. From this vantage point, he sees unlimited\npotential in untapped markets around the globe. And with Wang\u2019s team keeping\nthe quality high and the price low, he thinks Soardist is perfectly positioned\nto meet the needs of the moment. Both today, and tomorrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe goal moving forward is to grow. Locally. Internationally. There\u2019s such a huge thirst and there\u2019s such a huge place for us and need for us. In the future, we\u2019d like to be on the scale that we have here in America in Australia, Spain, and so forth.
