Even in his position, Jake is on the front lines of helping people. He’s joined multiple Facebook groups related to the promotional products industry so he can help people who raise questions there. And he makes himself available to customers by giving out his cell number and inviting them to reach out 24/7. When questioned about the sanity of this availability, Jake chuckled and said, “If I wanted an easy job, I would quit and work for someone else.”
What motivates the owner of a business that has grown from a one-man show to an international player with facilities in Canada, the United States, and China in a mere 14 years? Jake comes from a family of entrepreneurs and business owners, so there’s a bit of family competition to be the best and to make the most. He wants to grow the business so he can leave it as a legacy for future generations.
Yorkn Products
Boasting more than 17,000 products on their website, Yorkn continues to release new products daily. That’s a minimum of 365 new products each year! They use customer inquiries and research both Amazon and Google Trends to see what consumers want and make their product decisions accordingly. The wide selection, coupled with fair pricing, makes Yorkn a one-stop supplier for distributors of promotional products.
Yorkn has a unique way of establishing fair pricing compared to other U.S. and Canada-based suppliers: Jake’s childhood. Having spent the first 18 years of his life in China, Jake understands the culture and has a relationship with the factories. “I know how to negotiate with them to get the best pricing, and I’ve toured many of the factories to ensure quality.” Those connections benefit Yorkn customers.
Yorkn Possibilities
In addition to searching the 17,000 products on the Yorkn website, distributors may reach out to Yorkn to manufacture custom projects. That’s something many suppliers are unable to offer. The possibilities with Yorkn really are endless.
As quickly as the brand has grown and as successful as Yorkn is, they’re just getting started. In the next five years, Jake said he would like to open a factory or warehouse in the U.S. “Probably Texas. Near SAGE.”
