Feeling all warm and fuzzy after the new year? Well, apparently, Pantone is feeling the same way about 2024!
This year’s Color of the Year is described as a “velvety gentle peach tone whose all-embracing spirit enriches mind, body, and soul.” Now, doesn’t that sound like a color you just want to wrap yourself in?

This color is all about comfort going into the new year, and we all need a little calm and ease, don’t we?
Pantone’s 2024 Color of the Year goes to… Peach Fuzz!
Some say it reminds them of their grandmother’s bathroom décor, and others say it reminds them of a springtime tulip. Let’s see what Pantone says about their color of the year!
“In seeking a hue that echoes our innate yearning for closeness and connection, we chose a color radiant with warmth and modern elegance. A shade that resonates with compassion, offers a tactile embrace, and effortlessly bridges the youthful with the timeless.”
Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute
How does Pantone select the Color of the Year?
According to Pantone, there isn’t one big global meeting deciding the year’s color. Moreover, it’s a collection of the art of color forecasting over the course of the year. A group of color-attuned people look at current trends in design and culture globally and continue the conversation until a unanimous decision is made at the end of the year. That’s 365 days of “What’s your favorite color?”
How long have they been doing this?
Pantone is celebrating 25 years of the Color of the Year program! Since 1999, they have invited us to look at color differently by building a connection within it and through the art of human expression.
The first Pantone Color of the Year was PANTONE 15-4020 Cerulean Blue. It served as an influential color backbone for designers around the globe. The program continues to select color(s) each year and will continue to do so for years to come.
“We are grateful to have provided an avenue where designers and color enthusiasts worldwide feel empowered to tell their own stories through the language of color and showcase their creativity within their communities.”
Laurie Pressman, Vice President of the Pantone Color Institute

What does that mean for promo?
The question is…what does that NOT mean for promo?
The Pantone Color of the Year program gives us a head start on a trending color for promotional products into the new year. It also serves as a conversation starter with clients.
