Why You Should be Using Video as a Part of Your Marketing Strategy


It’s not hard to see why video is such a popular medium nowadays – it’s easy to digest, engaging, and entertaining. That’s probably why the world watches over 1 billion hours on YouTube per day! Especially right now, with many storefronts closed and people placing their orders online, video is an incredibly important tool. Here are a few of the top reasons that you should be creating and using videos in your marketing strategy:

Videos Allow Your Customers to See the Product

This is the big one right now. Since it can be difficult to meet up to take a look at a product sample, consumers are relying on virtual ways to see the products they’re interested in. Creating product videos that show off the specs, sizes, and features of your products and sharing them on your social media and with customers is a great way to get eyes on your supplies.

This is a really nice example of a product video. It goes over the product’s features, explains how to use it, and shows what it will look like with a custom logo printed – all in under a minute.

Videos are Ultra-Shareable

According to a 2019 study by Wyzowl, 96% of consumers have watched a video to learn more about a product or a service, and 84% say that they’ve been convinced to purchase by watching a brand’s video. Additionally, people are twice as likely to share video content with their friends over other types of content. Think about it – how many times have you watched a funny or interesting video, only to send it to a friend as soon as it was over?

Videos like these are great for sharing on social media. This video shows all the steps involved in making lip balm in an interesting, eye-catching way. It’s very satisfying to watch the lip balm get created, and the addition of the ASMR-like factory sounds doubles up on the satisfaction factor.

Consider the following: how much time does it take to look up a product, read the description and specs, and figure out how it would look in person? Watching a video is often a much quicker way for consumers to get the information that they’re looking for. By creating marketing and product videos, you are able to share content with your customers in a way that is not only more engaging than text, but also saves them precious minutes. The saying is “time is money”, after all.
