Has this ever happened to you? You receive an email from a client with an attached photo of a cool item they saw somewhere, and they’re asking if you can get it for them. You need to find this product but all you have to work with is the image your client sent. What do you do?
Step 1: Identify It
The first step to finding your elusive product is to identify what exactly it is. When you log into SAGE Online and click on the Product Search tab on the right, you can fill out the category field to begin narrowing down your search. From there, you want to pinpoint the item’s major features. For example, let’s say that you received an image of a tote bag. Does it have handles, pockets, or a zipper? All of these would be characteristics that you could enter as keywords.
Step 2: Begin the Search
Now that you’ve got some basic keywords and a category, you can start your search. If this pulls up your item, yay! You are good to go ahead and get the ball rolling on a quote. If your first search is too broad, not to worry! We still have plenty of tricks up our sleeves.
Step 3: Narrow it Down
You have a few options for narrowing down your search. First, you can hit the back button and add additional search terms, such as a price range, approximate dimensions, or country of origin. You can also enter a color and with SAGE’s ColorSense technology, all your results will show images in that color if available. This is especially useful if you’re working off a provided image – you can easily see results in the desired color to compare to your image.
With SAGE’s drill-down search feature, you can thin out your search results without ever having to leave your original search page. Just click on the funnel icon at the top of the page and you’ll be provided with a list of options for narrowing down your search.
