On March 11, the Centers for Disease Control declared the COVID-19 outbreak a pandemic. Since then, actions have been taken at both the state and national levels to decrease the spread of the virus as well as to assist those affected by the outbreak. Small businesses are encouraged to do their part to keep their employees, customers, and themselves healthy.
Congress passed and the President signed the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA). The FFCRA requires, among other things, that starting April 2, 2020, business with under 500 employees will be required to provide paid leave for certain employees who cannot work or telework because of qualifying COVID-19 reasons. You can find additional information on this and how it may affect your business here: https://www.dol.gov/agencies/whd/pandemic/ffcra-employer-paid-leave.
We have put together a list of available resources for small business affected by COVID-19 by state below. You can find additional information from the US Small Business Administration here.
